This might be the most beautifully designed portable vaporizer

Medical marijuana has been making huge leaps in terms of acceptance and viability across the country. Same goes for recreational use, which was just approved in California, Massachusetts, and Maine, adding to a growing list of pot-friendly states where it’s totally cool to toke up in the privacy of your own home.

As more cannaseurs come out of the woodwork, there’s an increasing market of ways to imbibe everybody’s favorite plant. But gone are the days where a joint or bong was your only choice. Today’s toker has a plethora of pipes, vaporizers, dab rigs, and so on to choose from.

Mom’s Breast Milk Suddenly Changed Color…Learn The Amazing Reason Why

This is the photo Mallory Smothers posted on her Facebook page a little over a week ago. It has since been shared over 70,000 times.

The side-by-side comparison of Mallory Smothers’ breast milk that has since gone viral.

In Mallory’s Facebook post, she writes that the breast milk on the left was pumped on Thursday before her child went to bed. Around the early hours of Friday morning, her child began exhibiting the beginning symptoms of the common cold, congestion and frequent sneezing. Mallory fed her child and they went back to bed; when she went to pump later on on Friday, the milk had drastically changed in color and consistency! How could this be?

Mallory explains that, according to an article in a medical journal she had read before this incident, breast milk can deviate from the norm due to a phenomenon called “baby spit backwash.” To explain, when a baby nurses, the baby’s saliva enters the mother’s mammary gland. The mammary gland can detect and interpret such things as viruses and bacteria from the saliva, and if the glands detect a change in the baby’s condition – such as the common cold – the mother’s body is capable of changing the breast milk’s immunological properties to produce antibodies for the baby.

Mallory says that her milk from Friday resembles colostrum, the type of breast milk full of antibodies and leukocytes that is produced by the mother in the first few days after giving birth, which was triggered into production again by Mallory’s child’s cold.

Mallory Smothers concluded: “The human body never ceases to amaze me.”

Abandoning Luxury Life in Dubai For Offgrid Living In The Desert. And Never Looking Back.

One recent migrant to Sunseed had a great high paying job in Dubai, one of the world’s most opulent centers of luxury, where you’re born a captain of industry. Money doesn’t mean anything because everybody has so much of it there, it’s just a way of life.

Traffic on a street at night, long exposure.

What is Sunseed you say?

Tucked in the lower Andalusia area of Spain, Sunseed is a place where people shun technology, where they find escape from the nagging need to check Facebook and Instagram every two minutes, among many other things. Those who come here have a certain broader outlook, opting to live within limits, off the grid, using sustainable resources to live comfortably. A nomadic sort of life.

While the area might be bleak, a sort of desolate desert you’d find in a Clint Eastwood western, a harsh climate that gets exceedingly hot in the day while temperatures at night plummet to bone-chilling lows.

However, the advantages of tolerating these extremes of living go far, and bring some extreme results.

The average person in Sunseed makes just 3kg to the 478kg of the average American citizen.

Living here brings new opportunity to explore therapeutic treatments that might stray from conventional medicine. They eat better, healthier.

And there’s a sort of self-governenace where the members meet each week to discuss things, make communal choices, and keep things healthy between others who share in the community.

When the closest town you can walk to is a 90-minute trip, you learn a bit more about self-sufficiency. You adopt a permaculture, worry-free

When This School Brought Meditation Into The Classroom, Some Rolled Their Eyes – Until They Saw The Results.

When Vistacion Valley Middle School in San Francisco decided to implement meditation into the curriculum back in 2007, more than a few teachers and parents rolled their eyes at the thought of this new age approach having any impact.

Meditation has been around for centuries, and numerous studies have shown its benefits, but until now we didn’t know what effect it would have in a classroom setting. The school in question had its share of troubled teens acting out, resulting in fights, low test scores, and other disciplinary problems.

Many thought it seemed like a waste of precious time. They were wrong.

“The kids see guns on a daily basis,” the school’s athletic director, Barry O’Driscoll said, adding, “there would be fights here three-to-five times a week.”

After a lot of discussion the school introduced “quiet time” where students put their heads on their desks and practiced transcendental meditation twice each day, for a 15 minute period of time. To counter the lost 30 minutes in each day, the school extended the day by the same amount of time, thus negating any complaints about lost teaching time.

Four years later they saw a 79% decrease in suspensions, a 98.3% increase in attendance, and a 400% increase in GPA. Those numbers proved quite substantial, and changed even the most skeptical teacher’s minds. Today Quiet Time is widely regarded as one of the most dramatically successful initiatives in the Bay Area, and perhaps best of all is that it requires zero resources – all you need is silence.

This sort of approach to mindfullness could easily benefit many children around the country, and with that in mind a new campaign was created to pursue integrating meditation into more classrooms.

Rescued Pitbull Helps Autistic Boy Hug His Mom For The First Time

True dog lovers know their furry companions come programmed with a “pay it forward” attitude, but few examples demonstrate that as well as this good-natured pitbull. Amanda Granados is the mother of a young boy with Asberger’s Syndrome, and until recently she and her son Joey couldn’t share simple physical connections of a hug and kiss, or even holding her hand.

That changed when they adopted Roxy, a beautiful Pit Bull Terrier with a goofy attitude and a fondness for giving big wet kisses. Joey now holds his mother’s hand, and feels comfortable offering her a kiss and a hug. The unconditional affection Roxy showed Joey made a huge impact on his behavior, and shaped his life for the better.

“I didn’t have too many friends growing up, but then we got Roxy and I’ve been able to make friends ever since,”

There’s limited research on the effects of animals on children with Autism, but a 2014 study revealed that dogs can give children with autism a special kind of companionship that allows them to learn responsibility and suggests the connection helps encourage positive social behaviors.
